We are delighted to announce that Grzegorz Wąsiewski, Ph.D., (Partner) has been appointed as a Member of the Advisory Committee for the project called: "Climate Justice - New Challenges for Law and Judges" at the European Law Institute (ELI).
Within the scope of the research project, an international team of highly specialized experts will assess the challenges that the courts of individual member states have to face in relation to climate change and fair energy transition. The main objective of the Committee is to review different sources of law that courts, in particular the courts of individual Member States and the Court of Justice of the European Union, can apply to matters related to climate justice, with a particular focus on the responsibility of countries and companies in both domestic and cross-border contexts.
The European Law Institute was established in 2011 as an independent non-profit organization with a view to improve the quality of European law and strengthen European legal integration. The institute brings together representatives of legal science and legal practice, the institute initiates, coordinates and supports research activities in the field of development of the European law, and also formulates practical aspects between them for the European Commission.
