Market overview of the Polish defence sector

On 1 September, Dag Nilsson participated in a prestigious meeting organized by Business Finland in cooperation with the Embassy of Finland in Poland. The event was part of the preparations for this year’s International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO in Kielce (2-5 September).

The meeting focused on market entry strategies and public procurement practices in the defence sector. It brought together numerous representatives of the Finnish defence industry – companies interested in cooperation and opportunities to participate in projects related to regional security and strengthening the defence of the European Union’s eastern flank.

During his presentation, Dag Nilsson provided a comprehensive overview of Polish procurement procedures for military and security equipment and services. He addressed essential contractual principles, key challenges, and strategic opportunities available to foreign companies seeking market entry in Poland.

Through this initiative, Finnish partners were able to gain not only legal and practical knowledge, but also a more complete picture of the possibilities for cooperation with Poland in the field of defence. The event was attended by the Finnish Ambassador to Poland, Päivi Laine, and the Finnish Defence Attaché, Jon von Weissenberg, among others.
