We invite you to take part in a free webinar devoted to the legal aspects of breast cancer treatment. The webinar is organized in cooperation with the Polish Society of Oncological Surgery, which together with the Karol Marcinkowski University Hospital in Zielona Góra has assumed patronage over the event. The speaker roster features BSJP’s Hanna Rubaszewska and Andrzej Załęski, who will run expert panels.
Hanna Rubaszewska, who has been supporting activities promoting cancer prevention for many years, will look at the topic of patient’s consent to risk reduction operations, including in particular prophylactic mastectomy. She will explain to which legal aspects special attention must be given by doctors and medical institutions obtaining the consent in question. Andrzej Załęski, in turn, will address the problem of patients’ negative opinions on doctors. He will explain what doctors can do if a negative opinion about their work is published on the Internet as well as what are the legal boundaries of patient’s free speech when sharing an opinion about a doctor, including an oncologist.
The webinar will be held on 1 August 2020 at 4 p.m.
