BSJP’s experts have developed and presented a legal opinion on using telemedicine when consulting with cross-border patients.
The document referred, among others, to the issues of:
- telemedical consultations of a given case between two countries in the context of personal data protection,
- establishing a diagnosis using telemedicine,
- civil liability in the framework of remote treatment,
- application of telemedicine in cross-border research and education.
The expert opinion has been drawn up for the Medical Faculty of the University of Greifswald and TEMICARE - Telemedically Integrated German-Polish Centre for Paediatric Oncology and Haematology in the Euroregion of Pomerania within the scope of the Interreg V A Mecklenburg-Vorpommern / Brandenburg / Poland cooperation programme financed by the European Territorial Cooperation project of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
The main conclusions of the expert report were presented on 19 October 2021 by BSJP’s Hanna Rubaszewska (Partner) and Alexandra Balcerzyk (Senior Associate). The project was coordinated by Dr. Jörn Brockhuis (Partner).
